To improve the aesthetics of the teeth we have a number of possibilities available.
You´ll find a short description of the more common treatments here:
VENEERS OR LUMINEERS
CROWNS AND BRIDGES
WHITENING
CONTOURING

GUMS

A veneer is a thin porcelain facing which is glued on to the front part of a tooth. Only a very thin layer of enamel needs to be removed, a lot less in comparison to a crown. This is a very aesthetic solution as the colour, shape and, even to a certain degree, the position of your tooth, can be greatly improved.Lumineers is a brand name for very thin veneers.
A veneer can be also be made of composite, the white material that is being used for fillings. Special composites were developed for aesthetical purposes.
Not all crowns and bridges are the same. There is difference in materials and quality. Communication with the technician is essential, for us a reason to have the crowns made locally and not in China.
Crowns are usualy made of porcelain. Modern day ceramics have the strength to cope with chewing (and grinding ) forces.
Whitening of your teeth can be done in the dental office or at home. Both systems are effective and reliable. In-office whitening takes aproximately one and a half hour, home whitening a week or more. Some say that home whitening is longer lasting. You can also have both: in-office whitening for a quick result and home whitening to keep your teeth white.
Contouring is reshaping the edges of your front teeth to achieve a more harmonious line. With minimal effort the result can be amazing.
Gums can be too visible and may be corrected before doing treatment on your teeth.
In the above example, veneers were made after the gum surgery.
In the above example, the teeh were contoured after a home whitening.
